Well the other night I was up at 2:30am and could not fall back asleep so I balanced the checkbook, swept & mopped floors, cleaned toilets and shook out the rugs. I guess you could say I utilized the time and energy God gave me for the moment. :-)

Pray. I got this from the pastor at New town united methodist... he got it from Pastor Dick(?) Woodward...

This worked for me yesterday!!!!

"I am not, but He is and He is with me."

"I cannot, but He can and He is with me."

"I do not want to, but He wants to and He is with me."

"I did not, but He did because He was with me."

I had to give a presentation that I didn't feel ready for nor did I know much about(we had to leave the tech guy at the gate of the base since he wasn't able to get on the base with our contractor id's- he only had a license - this use to be ok) -

So in the bathroom I was praying: "I am not ready, but You are and You are with me."

Presentation went without a hitch.

This can obviously be applied to the mommy realm too. I love to learn application ideas and man is this ever a good one!

Tracy as far as tips and tricks - I alway freeze extra food and
desserts and date them - in case I have company or last minute parties
or if I have to be away at dinner time I won't have to fix a whole meal
for my family. Also your families may not need the extra Girl Scout
cookies so we pull them out of the freezer at a later date - like when
company comes over etc. I make all Christmas cookies at the end of Oct
and Nov and double wrap them and put them in large gallon bags. It
saves me from being exhausted and I can spread things out and it frees
up Dec some as far as time.
If you guys are looking for a lowfat hot summer day treat that kids
like I just learned this fast snack tip from my sister and kids love it
and it really tastes like an icecream sandwich. You'll need chocolate
gramcrackers and lowfat or fatfree coolwhip. Spread the cool whip on 1
square and stick them together and freeze them in a couple of hours and
you've got ice cream sandwiches and the kids love them.
During the summer I often look for alternatives to cooking in the
house, because it keeps the house cool and the electric bill down. I
grill alot and I sometimes will pick up chicken strips from the grocery
store and cut them up in a tossed salad and make like a cob salad with
whatever summer vegetables are available.
As far as kids each child has an assigned chore and if they don't
do their chores they miss a social activity that week. (Chores like
unloading the dish washer, taking out the trash and keeping their rooms
neat and NO TV - if their rooms are not clean. Bed time is at a
specific time and if any child is late going to bed they go to bed the
following night however early they were late the previous night. This
is our couple time after our kids go to bed and we are strict about it.
As far as balance in my life let me know if you find any mom with 3
kids that has total balance it doesn't exist and the house is far from
being completly. Keeping my house clean and making sure everyone picks
up is an incredible task. Take care! Allyson
